Evening with the Boys

(Joliet, IL) Hi 82 Lo 61 -- When we got up the radar showed a line of storms slowly coming at us from the west. We planned for today to be "dump" day. We've gone eight days since we last dumped our tanks. We set out to get it done before noon to beat the rain. It only took a few minutes to get everything put away and hitch up. Jim towed the rig over to the dump site and gave the tanks a good back flush after emptying them. At the same time he checked with the office to see if we could move to another site. We've moved into a site with 50 amp service, and more importantly, on a different breaker panel that we were on before. It's suppose to be around 90 degrees later this week and we didn't want to chance having more problems with the electricity.

After cleaning up from our "dump and move," I played games through the afternoon while Jim read his Kindle. We left around 4:30 to meet grandson Jack and son Rick in Aurora about 40 minutes away. We had dinner with them and then went geocaching around the area. We looked for four caches and found three. The one we couldn't find was somewhere around a fire hydrant. I hate it when we don't find them.

It had some trinkets inside, so it was a good opportunity to teach Jack about the "leave one if you take one" rule. You're welcome to take a toy or trinket, but you have to replace it with something. I always have some small items with me for that purpose.

Jack found one behind a building. It was a microcache, a very small container that contained nothing but this log rolled up inside.

It's so fun to take kids geocaching. They usually have a great eye for it. Jack is very good at it and seems to really enjoy it. Maybe he'll become an avid geocacher when he grows up.

After our evening of fun we got back home after dark and with a light rain falling. The bad storms never did come, they went north of us. It was a wonderful day.
